This is the reality for our dog also. Today Pörri decided to take over Nika's bed.

Winter time

We are having a real winter in Helsinki.

I took these photos today from our garden.

We are now living at home again although our bathroom is still not finished. I hope to use the shower tonight for the first time. I will take photos as soon as the bathroom is finished. It looks totally different now.

Our new bathroom

Our bathroom is not yet finished but it won't take much longer.

Here are some stuff that will be in our new bathroom. The walls are going to be white, the floor and the shower wall are going to be dark grey, almost black.

Happy New Year 2010!

I hope you all will have a happy and prosperous new year.

This is a sad new year's eve for many, because of the tragic events in Sello shopping center today. I hope the year 2010 will be less violent and that we all would care a bit more from each other and this planet.

Best of 2009

Here are my highlights of 2009.

The year 2009 had a great start as we traveled on our honeymoon to Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.

The spring time in our garden is always lovely. I enjoy planting flowers and watching the garden coming alive.

The annual spring party is a must. Hopefully next year too!

I love summer! Our garden is the place to be in the summer time.

Our first wedding anniversary in Tallinn.

Our friends wedding.

Our trip to Germany, France, Switzerland and Italy was succesful this year too. I hope to go next year as well. Perhaps with our newest family member.

Chris' 35th birthday in November.

One of the biggest highlights was that I finished my studies. Unfortunately I don't have a photo of that. I also got a stipend from my thesis. I'm really proud of my achievement.

La Traviata

Yesterday I went to opera to see La Traviata, an opera by Giuseppe Verdi. It is based on the novel La dame aux Camélias by Alexandre Dumas, published in 1848. Violetta's role was played by Kristina Opolais and Alfredo's by Giorgio Casciarri. The opera was conducted by Mikko Franck.

Great music, beautiful performances and tragic ending.

Uutta vuotta kohti

Joulu on onneksi takana. Päätimme, että emme enää juhli joulua. Pakenemme ensi vuonna jonnekin pois kaiken hössötyksen ja härdellin tieltä.

Enää kolme päivää tätä vuotta jäljellä. Yritän ehtiä vielä julkaista tämän vuoden parhaat kuvina. Kuten Pee on tehnyt.

Nyt on pakko mennä pesemään hiukset, jonka jälkeen luen hieman ja menen toivottavasti ajoissa nukkumaan. Huomenna pitää olla aikaisin töissä. Huomenna pitäisi myös muistaa varata kampaaja.
