Brainfreeze

Brainfreeze the strange phenomenon. I did not know about it until I had met Chris and tasted my first Slurpee last year in Singapore. Still I did not experience it my self. Now as I did some research, I found out that there are even webpages about it and that in fact the term "Brainfreeze" is registered term by 7-Eleven where you can by the frozen Slurpee beverages.

Some "brainfreeze" facts:

•Brainfreeze is an intense stabbing headache-like pain that occurs after consuming something cold, and it affects about 30 percent of the population.

•7-Eleven registered the term "brainfreeze" in 1994 to communicate the painful joy of drinking a frozen Slurpee beverage.

•Brainfreeze is also known as an "Ice Cream Headache", and "Frozen Brain Syndrome"

•The pain of brainfreeze begins a few seconds after the rapid ingestion of cold foods or beverages (such as ice cream or slurpees or yellow snow)and peaks in 30-60 seconds, and can last up to 5 minutes.

Maybe these facts explain why Chris likes Slurpee´s so much:

• Canadians purchase over 30 million Slurpees every year (Chris is Canadian)

One more thing..

Yesterday was our 1 year and 9 months day. Maybe someone thinks "how stupid" but I like to celebrate it here a bit. Yesterday when I got home there was a warm dinner waiting for me and so was there a day before too.

Chris is very special.

Tired

It has been a pretty tiresome week. Getting back to work after three weeks makes one a bit confused. It takes some time to get used to everything and having a routine. I´m also since tuesday trying to realize that I´m going to be studying for the next at least four years. The idea makes me nervous and at the moment it feels overwhelming.
At the same time as I´m feeling overwhelmed I´m feeling also very proud to have got this opportunity to study and to get somewhere in my life.
Now I´m wondering how can I handle the work ahead. Instead of that I should be thinking positively about studying and learning as it´s something that I´ve so long wanted to do.
I should go and hug a few cats. That makes me always feel better.

School starts

Today is my first school day. I´m at school again after having eight year break. I´m already so tired that I hope there will be nothing too mind blowing today. I guess we new students are just going to get to know the school and the people there.

I´m really waiting to get started but at the same time I´m wondering how I´m going to manage the work and the school. The school will be my number one from now on as my future depends on it. I hope it will be interesting and I hope I have enough energy to study.

Heroic acts of Pörri Part I

Today the neighbours normal but naughty cat Justus chased Piki indoors and scared Kisu to jump on the rail of our porch. Then Pörri took action and chased him away. Or so it seemed. At least for Pörri. Here is proof...

Mioawmiaow = Since i can find nothing better to play with, I shall see what happens when I sharpen my claws on this handy piece of furniture.

Roww-maww-roww = I am so glad to see that you have returned home with both arms full of groceries. I will now rub myself against your leg and attempt to trip you as you walk towards the kitchen.

Mmmmmm = If I sit in the sunshine for another hour or so, I think I shall be satisfied.

Mreoaw = Please ask room service to send up another can of tunafish.

Uninvited guest

Today we had again neighbours naughty kitty as guest. Here he is under our livingroom table enjoying himself. The cat is crazy. Beginning of May this year he attacked Chris and bite his arm. The cat was hanging on to his arm quite a long time and also scratched Chris´ leg. He had to see a doctor afterwards. No need to mention that we don´t like the cat or the neighbour anymore.
The neighbour freaked out and was blaiming Chris for the cats actions. She was also saying that we don´t know anything about cats and that is normal for him to act like that. For me it does not sound normal. I´ve had a cat or cats for fifteen years and that is half of my entire lifetime. I think I must know something about cats.
Well, the neighbour is now selling her apartment and will move out eventually.

The last day of my holiday

Tomorrow I have to work again. My holiday of three weeks is coming to an end. I had a great holiday with Chris. We travelled to Thailand and Singapore. You can read all the details of our trip from my homepage as soon as it is updated.
Today we are having a lazy Sunday here at home.

I´m proud to present my very own tomatoes. This summer has been my first summer at growing things. These taste so sweet and look pretty.

Getting started

Congratulations to myself! I have now started a new era by creating my own blog. I´m finding my official site a bit hard to handle by my self as I have no clue how to even put the text there. I have to always ask Chris (my boyfriend) to do that. He has created the whole website and it does look beautiful. Chris is so busy with his work and his music that he has no time at the moment to update my site. I would have wanted new pics there because I have lots of them. Insted I´m trying this blog thing now. Let´s see how this works.
