Tomorrow we are off to Dresden

Tomorrow we are leaving Kaufbeuren and heading to Dresden. We are spending the night and one day there. We heard that Rostock is also a nice city, but we might not have enough time to get to know Rostock as well.

We have booked room in a dog friendly hotel in Dresden. It is a pretty nice hotel, so I'm looking forward to it.

 

Germany has so far been very dog friendly country. Well, I knew it already, because I've been here so many times that this country is like a second home to me. Here in Kaufbeuren you can bring a dog to almost any shop (except grocery stores). So Nika has been shopping with us. You can also bring dog to restaurants and they will be offered water. People don't usually have the dogs on leash while walking them, of course there are places where you have to have the dog on a leash, but mostly they can run free. This has been a very nice holiday for Nika also.

Helle jatkuu

Tänään olimme kävelyllä alppien läheisyydessä ja taas kerran uimassa. Vielä huomisen saamme nauttia kauniista Kaufbeurenista. Torstaina lähdemme ajamaan kohti pohjoista. Tarkoituksena on matkalla yöpyä Dresdenissä ja tutustua hieman kaupunkiin. Vielä ei täältä haluaisi lähteä, mutta velvollisuudet ja arki kutsuvat. Toivottavasti tänne tullaan pian uudestaan ja ehkä pidemmäksikin aikaa...

Augsburg ja Ammersee

Kun Tänzelfestit oli sunnuntaina juhlittu lähdimme Utan, Jochenin ja Nadinen perässä Augsburgiin. Illan ohjelmassa oli grillausta heidän kotinsa terassilla sekä juustojen ja viinin maistelua.

Seuraavana päivänä chillailimme terassilla ja lähdimme Ammerseelle uimaan Utan päästyä töistä. Nika ui ensimmäistä kertaa ja taisi olla yllättynyt, että osasi uida. Vesi oli taas todella lämmintä. Uimisen jälkeen söimme jäätelöannokset rannalla olevan ravintolan terassilla. Jäätelöiden jälkeen ajoimme takaisin
Kaufbeureniin.

Nyt vaan syyskuun alkua odottelemaan, sillä Uta ja Nadine ovat luvanneet tulla silloin käymään Suomessa.

Ukkosta, hellettä ja Tänzelfest

Täällä on ukkostanut melkein joka yö. Tänään on ukkostanut myös päivällä. Eilen yöllä tuli rakeitakin.

Täällä on nyt Tänzelfest eli joka kesäiset kaupunkijuhlat. Eilen illalla olimme juomassa olutta ja syömässä herkkuja keskustassa, joka on juhlien kunniaksi palannut keski-aikaan.

Nyt sataa ja tuulee kovaa. Toivottavasti sade hellittää ja päästään tänäänkin juhlimaan.

Holiday and hot weather in Germany continues

These photos were taken on Wednesday. We were walking in the Alps and swimming in a small lake. The water was 25°c warm. Nika went into water also, but she still don't know how to swim.

Holiday!

Loma alkoi perjantaina. Lähdimme klo 19 Tallinkilla Rostockin suuntaan. Saavuimme perille lauantaina klo 21.30. Laivasta lähdimme ajamaan suoraan kohti Kaufbeurenia, jonne saavuimme sunnuntaina klo 8.45. Laivamatka meni hyvin. Nika oli erittäin kiltti ja aika rauhallinen. Auto matka meni hyvin, mutta täytyy sanoa, että 850 km yhdellä kertaa on aika rankka pläjäys. Viimeiset 200 km olivat äärimmäisen rasittavat ja tuntuivat kestävän ikuisuuden. Pysähdyimme matkalla monta kertaa. Nukuimme aamuyöstä pari tuntia autossa ja lähdimme ajamaan auringon noustessa.

Eilen kävimme jo nauttimassa helteestä järvellä ja söimme Biergartenissa tässä lähellä äärimmäisen hyvää ruokaa. Tänään ollaan shoppailtu, joka on aika rankkaa tällaiselle helteellä. Viime yönä oli kova ukkosmyrsky. Tänään ukkonen meni tästä ohi. Koko viikoksi on luvassa lämmintä.

Tiles for our new kitchen

Today we bought the tiles for our kitchen. They are white brick like tiles. The other tiles we were thinking were silver mosaic ones. Unfortunately they were too expensive for us, so we ended up buying the white ones. They were my favorite from the beginning. Here are two example pics how they might look on the wall.

Viikko lomaan

Kesälomaan on enää viikko aikaa. Ensi viikolla on paljon tekemistä. Pitäisi saada tavaroita pakattua, jotta muutto sujuu mahdollisimman nopeasti, kun palaamme matkalta. Pääsemme muuttamaan kolmen viikon kuluttua. Olemme päässet jo joistakin huonekaluista eroon, joita emme uuteen paikkaan ole viemässä. Vielä muutama tavara ollaan myymässä/antamassa pois.

Ensi viikolla on vuorossa tapettien tilaaminen ja maalin ostaminen. Myöskin joitakin muuttoon liittyviä käytännön asioita täytyy hoitaa.

Viikonloppuna päästään nauttimaan auringosta. Huomenna on tarkoitus lähteä rannalle.

Tänään Petra on juhlinut syntymäpäiväänsä. Onnea Pee!
